Ryan, Michael

Born: Wicklow, Ireland, December 25, 1822.
Took the habit: Longueuil, October 31, 1845.
Vows: Bytown, March 25, 1854 (N. 594).
Left the Congregation: after 1862.

Michael Ryan was born on December 25, 1822, in Wicklow, diocese of Dublin, Ireland. On October 31, 1845, he began his novitiate as a coadjutor Brother in Longueuil, in the presence of Father Damase Dandurand. He made his first vows on November 1, 1846 and five-year vows in 1847. He then made his perpetual oblation in Bytown (Ottawa) in the presence of Father Pierre Aubert on March 25, 1854. In the Personnel register of 1862 he is mentioned as present in Saint-Pierre-Apôtre, Montreal. His name does not appear afterwards in any Oblate source.
