In September of 2009, the superiors of provinces, delegations and missions were asked to submit a report of their Unit to both the Chapter Commissioner and to the Regional President. The suggested focus of these Unit reports was the following:
Areas or ministries of the Unit that have developed, flourished or grown since the last Chapter, with reasons for this apparent success.
Areas or ministries of the Unit which are dying out, or are no longer relevant, with reasons for this decline and dying.
The main issues which the Unit wants to bring to the attention of the General Chapter?
The Regional President was asked to make a synthesis of these reports. This synthesis is the basis for a report that the Regional President will make during the General Chapter. After the presentation of the report, there will be time for the capitulars to make comments and ask for clarifications.
These syntheses are now found on the Congregation’s web site (www.omiworld.org).
We have posted on this website the report that the Superior General will offer the 35th General Chapter as required by Rule 126a.
The formal capitular text of the financial situation of the Congregation is available directly from the Treasurer General to any Oblate who would wish a copy. Please contact the Treasurer General directly if you wish a copy (whitley@omigen.org). Please clearly indicate the following:
1. The language in which you wish to receive the report (English, French, Spanish).
2. The manner of transmission:
a. via a PDF file attached to an e-mail (include the email of the Oblate).
b. via post (please include the full address to be used)
c. via courier (please include the full address – not post office box – and phone number)
