Roma - 2012

The author – Fr. Yves  Beaudoin OMI, was born in Canada in 1926, and arrived in Rome in 1947, where he stayed until 2009. After studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Angelicum, and in Church History at the Gregorian University, he worked continuously For more than 30 years at the Congregation for the Cause of the Saints in the Vatican. First helping in the Oblate Postulation, and then as General Archivist, he dedicated himself to the research and study of the writings and life of the founder, St. Eugene de Mazenod, and the origins of the Congregation. He edited 22 volumes of the first series of Ecrits Oblats, and 8 volumes of the second series. He published many studies especially in Vie Oblate Life, and collaborated in  the  Dictionnaire des Valeurs Oblates, and directed the two volumes of Dictionnaire historique des Missionnaires Oblats de Marie Immaculée

The book – This book makes known the great person, Fr. Fernand Jette (1921-2000), Missionary Oblate  of  Mary Immaculate, a man who made a lasting contribution to the Institute, with his work as educator, professor, Superior at different levels, and finally as Superior General. He was a person who was, as the title says, A Wise Guide in a time of Crisis. He was a dependable point of reference, not only for his own Congregation, but also for many other male and female religious, who had to face up to the renewal required by the Vatican II Council. His spiritual leadership will continue to be a source of inspiration for present and future generations.
